General Information about cheap all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana

When traveling to Punta Cana and looking for an all-inclusive resort, not all hotels are the same. There are quite some differences depending on what category you book. If you are new to the world of Punta Cana and just starting your search for the perfect hotel, I am highly recommending my article about how to find the best all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana

When choosing an affordable all-inclusive resort, you should not expect high-end luxury, but you still can count on abundant food, unlimited all-inclusive, decent pool areas and direct beach access. Even if you are going to book the cheapest all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, you still have food, drinks, room, service, entertainment, pool, beach access and all further amenities included. This being said, even the most affordable resort options feed you well and get you happy, if you are not expecting the standards of a high-end resort. It’s impressive what you get even you are only paying a cheap 100 to 150 USD per night per room all-inclusive. On the other side, it might pay off to pay a few extra bucks for a better resort if certain amenities are important for you, as explained in my all-inclusive guide about Punta Cana. On the other hand, if you would like to save some extra bucks, check out my 12 saving tips for all-inclusive holidays in Punta Cana.

Evaluation of the best all-inclusive resorts on a budget

For this summary of the best cheap all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana when traveling on a budget, I have set the following standards:
– Price of maximum 200 USD per night per double room in high season, taxes included
– Price of maximum 150 USD per night per double room in low season, taxes included

I took the price for the first week in March (high season) and June (low season) and checked Hotels.com, Hotelscombined, Apple Vacations and Cheap Caribbean.

I have not taken into consideration any member discounts, cash-back or loyalty rewards, which could give you even more affordable rates. Check out my article about how to save on an all-inclusive vacation when considering the best place to book your holiday.

The best cheap all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana (for less than 150 USD per night per room)

Grand Bahía Principe Punta Cana

One of the most popular all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana when traveling on a budget is Grand Bahía Principe Punta Cana. Together with their identical sister property Grand Bahía Principe Bavaro, it is part of the large Bahía complex, which offers a total of 6 hotels (Ambar, Aquamarine, Bavaro, Esmeralda, Fantasía, Punta Cana, Turquesa) and so many amenities which are hard to beat by other resorts due to its sheer size.

When booking Grand Bahía Principe Punta Cana (or Bavaro) you can enjoy comfortable rooms, free Wi-Fi throughout the resort, a vast array of sports and entertainment, various pools and 1 hour (per day) complimentary watersports. You also have access to the neighboring properties Grand Bahía Principe Bavaro and Grand Bahía Principe Turquesa. You can use all their facilities (except the buffets), which sums up the options of á-la-carte restaurants to a whopping amount of approx. 10, which is unbeatable by any other cheap all-inclusive resort. However, keep in mind that you only have three à-la-carte dinners per week included and that the resort is quite large to walk (which can be an added plus if you love spacious tropical gardens and lots of walking options).

Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana is a great option for everyone looking to maximize their value-for-money while still keeping their Dominican Republic vacations affordable, thanks to the various amenities of this huge all-inclusive resort.

All-Inclusive Resort Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana

Be Live Collection Punta Cana

Be Live Collection Punta Cana might be one of the best examples for low-budget all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana: if you come with the expectation of a luxury resort (Be Live claims proactively to be a 5-star resort, which might cause irritations), you might get disappointed, but if you consider the affordable price you are paying, you will get an all-inclusive package well worth the money. This is also reflected in the reviews, which are averaging between 7.4 and 7.9 across the entire (review) board of Booking.com. This is a decent rating for a cheap all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana.

Be Live Collection Punta Cana is located in Cabeza de Toro, a separate part of Punta Cana with just a few other all-inclusive resorts. One of them is Serenade Punta Cana, which is also mentioned in this list of the cheapest all-inclusive resorts. Cabeza de Toro has a pristine beach once you pass the resort area but doesn’t feature the mile-long gorgeous stretch you find in the main Bavaro area. On the other side, it has some ok snorkeling options right off the beach, which is the best you can find right in Punta Cana.

When booking Be Live Collection Punta Cana, you can expect – considering the affordable price – superb rooms, plenty of pools and a big selection of entertainment and activities. There are also plenty of à-la-carte restaurants, even not all of them can convince entirely.

Be Live Collection is a perfect cheap all-inclusive resort for everyone looking for an easy, fun and value-for-money Punta Cana vacation. If you don’t expect a high-end luxury resort, you will be pleasantly surprised about this affordable all-inclusive resort in Cabeza de Toro.

Vista Sol Punta Cana

Vista Sol Punta Cana is like a hidden gem among the cheap all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. It is usually not that much referred to when talking about the most affordable vacation options in Punta Cana, but it offers an outstanding price-value ratio with colorful modern rooms, a well-maintained garden and pool area as well as very good à-la-carte dinners.

Vista Sol Punta Cana is one of the smaller all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana and located in the center of Bavaro, between the beaches of El Cortecito and Corales. Therefore, it is perfectly suitable for those wanting to immerse in Dominican life, as local bars, shops and other parts of the beach are just a short walk away.

Colorful Double Room at Vista Sol, one of the many all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana

Impressive Resort Punta Cana

Impressive Resort Punta Cana is located right next to Vista Sol. Therefore it works perfectly as well if you are looking for a cheap all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana which allows you to go out on the street and explore the Dominican life. On the other hand, it features a perfect stretch of beach, particularly since it has been remodeled around 2 years ago. When the resort was still branded as a Sunscape Resort, it had one of the worst beaches along Bavaro due to erosion, but Impressive has done excellent work on that. You can even have a sunset dinner on the jetty with a marvelous view over the coastline.

The property is divided into two parts, Impressive Resort Punta Cana and Impressive Premium Punta Cana. The latter one is usually a bit more expensive (and with more premium amenities), which is why Impressive Resort Punta Cana makes it in this list of the best cheap resorts in Punta Cana. The resort features various bars and restaurants, a well-equipped gym, a teens and kids club perfect for families and of course a large pool area as well as beach access.

Impressive Resort Punta Cana is perfect for everyone who is looking for a great all-in-one resort. It has offers for families, couples and singles. Impressive Resort marks a great choice if you simply want a budget all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana with an attractive price-value ratio, both in low season and in high season.

RIU Naiboa

RIU Naiboa is, together with RIU Bambu, the cheapest all-inclusive resort within the RIU complex, which consists of those two hotels plus RIU Palace Bavaro, RIU Palace Macao and RIU Palace Punta Cana. It is located along the beautiful Arena Gorda Beach, even it is a short walk from the rooms until you reach the ocean.

RIU Naiboa is a perfect option if you are looking for a cheap all-inclusive holiday in Punta Cana without forgoing on a popular hotel brand. You should not expect a luxury resort (particularly as guests’ reviews are a little bit subpar compared to other options on similar price levels) but can count on a wide entertainment program, plenty of food options and a well-maintained property. Wi-Fi is included on the entire property.

An additional plus of this affordable all-inclusive resort is the free access to the Splash Water World, a large water park within the limits of the RIU resort, which makes it a great option for families.

RIU Naiboa is an affordable resort option in Punta Cana for price-conscious travelers and guests with children. Especially the RIU Naiboa deals in high season are hard to beat. The resort is also great if you like to walk around big resorts, as the complex’ grounds are particularly ample.

Beach at RIU Resort in Punta Cana, Arena Gorda Beach

Occidental Caribe

Occidental Caribe is one of the most compact all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, and usually, it is among the cheapest hotels in the Bavaro area as well. The property is outstanding when it comes to the proximity to the beach of every room, as the entire hotel is beachside. Compared to other all-inclusive resorts, it doesn’t have a big garden nor is it a bungalow-style accommodation. It rather comes with a bigger (and not particularly beautiful) building, which has the aforementioned advantage of the remarkable proximity to the beach. Chances are high you even get a partial ocean view due to the structure of the building.

Besides this, Occidental Caribe offers two large pool areas with a good amount of bars, which are serving an outstanding selection of popular brands, compared to other affordable all-inclusive resorts on the same price level. The buffet restaurant is mediocre at most, but the à-la-carte restaurants can count for some interesting food creations. The rooms are for sure not the fanciest ones, but they do their job and don’t lack basic amenities you would expect from a cheap all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana.

Occidental Caribe is a perfect choice for budget-conscious travelers, who don’t care that much about modern design and inviting buffets, but who love direct beach access, good drinks and decent á-la-carte restaurants.

Live Entertainment at Occidental Caribe, one of the many all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana

Occidental Punta Cana

Occidental Punta Cana is the premium sister of Occidental Caribe, but as it is a completely different property in a different location, it gets its mention here. While usually more expensive than Occidental Caribe, Occidental Punta Cana still falls within the 150/200 USD per night per room budget limit in low/high season. Therefore it remains a candidate for the best cheap all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. This being said, you can see how affordable the Occidental Hotels in Punta Cana are if they both fall into this price level – perfect for all-inclusive budget travelers to the Dominican Republic.

Compared to Occidental Caribe, Occidental Punta Cana features a more wide-spread layout with several smaller buildings, totaling up to a room count of 860. Three pool areas, 11 restaurants and 10 bars are impressive numbers for an individual hotel, even some of these areas are reserved for the Royal Level of the hotel. This VIP tier of Occidental Punta Cana, which also suits demanding guests, is perfect if you prefer enhanced amenities and personal treatment.

Occidental Punta Cana is suitable for beach lovers looking for a perfect stretch of sand without blasting their travel budget. It is an affordable all-inclusive resort, perfect for a cheap vacation in Punta Cana.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca is another hidden (budget) gem in Punta Cana, which is often overlooked when asking for hotel recommendations in Bavaro and the surrounding area. It is one of the few smaller hotels not belonging to one of the bigger chains nor located in a complex of 5 resorts, which makes it particularly interesting if you are looking for a cheap all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana with a more intimate atmosphere. With less than 500 rooms it is also one of the smaller affordable resorts.

The hotel is located along Arena Gorda beach, one of the beautiful beaches in the Bavaro area. It features all amenities you expect from a Punta Cana resort, such as daytime entertainment, night shows, sports program, kids club, tennis courts, a gym and motorized watersports. With just 3 à-la-carte restaurants, VIK Hotel Arena Blanca is more at the lower end of the latter, but this won’t be a problem if you prefer to eat at the buffet anyway. For some enhanced services and additional amenities, you can also check out the Cayena Beach section located at the same property.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca is a perfect affordable all-inclusive resort for those preferring a quieter and small hotel, which can focus more on personalized service than the bigger resorts with 1000 rooms or more.

Serenade Punta Cana

Opening a completely new resort amidst the Covid-19 pandemic in Punta Cana is probably not the easiest task, but Serenade Punta Cana is exactly going to try this. To get a little starting bonus and catch some more bookings, this new all-inclusive resort with approx. 600 rooms tries to enter the market with a low price tag and therefore earns its spot in this list of the cheapest resorts in Punta Cana. Especially the pricing below 200 USD per room per night in high season is a particularly attractive price considering that it is a brand-new resort. Serenade Punta Cana is not supposed to be a high-end resort, but it does have elegant touches and upgraded amenities compared to other cheap all-inclusive resorts with similar price tags.

Serenade Punta Cana is located beachfront in Cabeza de Toro, a separate area a little bit southeast of Bavaro Beach. It will have several à-la-carte restaurants (between 4 and 5) and a similar amount of snack bars. Pool, beach access, bars and entertainment are included as well, as at all the other affordable all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. As the hotel is still about to open (probably in December 2020), further details can only be determined in 2021, but it seems that it will be an all-in-one resort geared towards the vast majority of travelers, such as families, couples and groups.

Without a doubt, Serenade Punta Cana is perfect for those who would like to try a stylish and brand-new all-inclusive resort for a very affordable price. Probably the general situation is forcing the hotel to lower their prices to get into the market as it is a rare find to have such a new resort for a price of less than 200 USD – in high season. Hence it would be no surprise for me if we see Serenade Punta Cana vanishing from this list of the best cheap all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, once they got established and are able to raise their prices.

Whala Bavaro

Whala Bavaro is the last hotel on this list and it might be the most interesting if you are looking for a real bargain on your Punta Cana vacation. With rates as low as 37.50 USD per person (!) in a double room, it is by far the cheapest all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana. It doesn’t matter for which date you are searching, whala will nearly always pop up first when sorting your search results according to the lowest price.

If you are flexible in terms of services, not too picky and know what you are paying, you can have a great time at whale Bavaro. The amenities whala is offering are quite impressive considering the price, among them 5 pools, 4 bars and 3 restaurants. You even have a sky bar and infinity pool with ocean views at whala. While you can use this pool for free, consumption on the sky bar has to be paid for.

As indicated, whala Bavaro is by far the cheapest all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana and therefore perfect for a very affordable vacation in the Dominican Republic. Guests review it surprisingly positively and if you keep in mind what you are paying (or not paying), you can have a great holiday on a budget here.
