Methodology – how we found the best affordable all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana
To find the best value all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, we have searched some of the most reputable websites, among them Booking, Expedia and Apple Vacations. We have checked prices for different dates, among them low season and high season (check here for further information about the seasons in Punta Cana). We have taken the lowest rate (usually refundable) of each budget all-inclusive resort. However, to make it to this list, the Punta Cana all-inclusive resort must fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
– cost no more than 2000 USD in high season (per week per double room)
– cost no more than 1750 USD in shoulder season (per week per double room)
– cost no more than 1500 USD in low season (per week per double room) (with one exception)

The 8 best affordable all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana
1) Catalonia Bavaro (Punta Cana)
The first – and in our opinion one of the best – affordable all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana 2024 is Catalonia Punta Cana.
Catalonia Bavaro, which is also referred to on some booking websites as Catalonia Punta Cana or Catalonia Bavaro Beach, is a great budget choice when looking for affordable all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. It is home to a particularly beautiful section of beach in Cabeza de Toro and counts with plenty of palm trees, a wide stretch of sand, tropical decoration and plenty of areas to relax. This best price all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana also features a large tropical garden, a few artificial lakes and some cool romantic hidden spots.
Catalonia Bavaro and Catalonia Punta Cana (not to confuse with Catalonia Royal Bavaro, the neighboring upper-tier resort of Catalonia), which are two different names for one resort with the same amenities and on the same property, also feature a golf course right next door. However, the main attractions are its beautiful grounds, the prime beachfront location for one of the buffet restaurants and the natural swimming pool in the ocean you can walk to right from the beach.
To be honest, it can be discussed if Catalonia Punta Cana shall be the No. 1 in this list of the best affordable resorts in Punta Cana. For me, it is the No. 1 if a lot of activities, a shallow ocean, fresh smoothies at the beach (from the gorgeous Mahoo Juice Bar), a huge and well-balanced buffet as well as cheap upgrade options are your crucial points when deciding on a budget vacation in Punta Cana. For a slightly better overall experience in a more modern resort (which only opened around 2019), Ocean El Faro, our No. 2, might be the better choice – but only if the beach is not important for you (which is pretty mediocre at Ocean El Faro). If modern rooms and an amazing rooftop bar with ocean views are your top priority, the No. 3 Caribe Princess Deluxe might be your top favorite.

Another hotel that is a new addition to the list of the best affordable all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana 2024 is Ocean El Faro. This recently-built resort – opened in 2019 – is located in Uvero Alto, an area a bit further north from the tourism center of Punta Cana with its dozens of all-inclusive resorts. While the beach at Ocean El Faro is not among the top beaches in Punta Cana, the resort particularly can convince with its modern design, the beautiful lighthouse and a large selection of restaurants and bars.
Ocean El Faro is a perfect resort for families, singles, groups and couples, as it offers something for everyone. While the family water park will be great for kids visiting this affordable Punta Cana hotel, couples will love the Privilege Area and the outdoor jacuzzi. Active guests can enjoy 2 tennis courts, a gym and 1 multi-sports court, while those who solely arrive to relax will love the lazy river and the 4 pools. Furthermore, Ocean El Faro features 10 restaurants and 13 bars, offering a particularly large selection of culinary options.
Ocean El Faro also is home to a separate adults-only section called Ocean El Faro – El Beso, which can be booked separately. It is a dedicated area within the resort exclusively for guests of 18 years and over, which has access to the entire services of the resort.

3) Bahía Principe Grand Aquamarine
Bahía Principe Grand Aquamarine is the best and cheapest adults-only resort you can find among this list of the best price all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. It combines large tropical premises with exactly the right amount of services and amenities, making it a great value option in Punta Cana. Bahía Principe Grand Aquamarine has two features other affordable Punta Cana all-inclusive resorts hardly can compete with. First, they focus on activities and entertainment, as it is a very social adults-only resort. It will be easy to get to know like-minded travelers, even though it is not a party resort in Punta Cana (continue reading as we have a real party resort further below). There is also a large selection of sports and amenities throughout the resort.
Second, Bahía Principe Grand Aquamarine guests also do have access to the centric and newly-built Bahía beach club called Las Olas Beach House, with some great specialty restaurants and some of the best wood-oven pizzas you can get at Punta Canas’ beaches.
Besides this, the hotel is a great value all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, with a perfect combination of low prices and upscale amenities, even though the rooms are a bit old.

4) Caribe Deluxe Princess & Tropical Deluxe Princess
Caribe Deluxe Princess (also known as Tropical Deluxe Princess) is sharply missing the podium of the best value all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, even though this doesn’t mean that it is less attractive.
Compared to other hotels from the top 3 on this list, such as Catalonia Punta Cana or Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine, Caribe Deluxe Princess offers absolutely modern rooms, which were completely renovated just in 2020 and are now featuring contemporary design and a fresh tropical feel. Some rooms even have a great ocean view.
When booking (or researching) Caribe Deluxe Princess, it is important to know that it shares the property with Tropical Deluxe Princess. Both value hotels in Punta Cana have the same facilities, similar rooms and the same services for guests. You can book either one, it won’t matter. It is also recommended to check the prices of both resorts, as they sometimes might vary.
Two more things are important to know about Caribe and Tropical Deluxe Princess: thanks to their several family amenities, including kids club, mini golf and many other kids activities as well as the water park for kids and the very well-designed family suites (check the Tropical Deluxe Princess review for details), Caribe Deluxe Princess is a great family resort in Punta Cana. But also adults get their money’s worth, particularly thanks to the amazing two-story beach house with its gorgeous ocean view from the (adults-only) bar on the second floor – one of the best ocean-view bars in the entire Punta Cana resort industry.

5) Vista Sol Punta Cana
Vista Sol Punta Cana is like a hidden gem among the best value all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana as it is usually not that much referred to, but it offers an outstanding price-value ratio with colorful modern rooms, a well-maintained garden and pool area as well as decent à-la-carte dinners.
Vista Sol Punta Cana is one of the smaller all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana and is located in the center of Bavaro, between Punta Canas’ beaches of El Cortecito and Corales. Therefore, it is perfectly suitable for those wanting to immerse in Dominican life, as local bars, the Punta Cana nightlife, shops and other parts of the beach are just a short walk away.
Vista Sol offers all the amenities you expect from a well-managed affordable all-inclusive resort, such as daily entertainment, an aquatic center with included non-motorized watersports, various à-la-carte restaurants and 2 pool areas. This Punta Cana hotel is a low-key resort with a well-maintained garden, where you find a decent mix of tranquility and activities. Vista Sol is perfect for everyone looking for a best price all-inclusive stay in Punta Cana. Its centric location is ideal to explore the surrounding area.

6) Iberostar Dominicana
Iberostar Dominica is a new entry into our list of the best budget resorts in Punta Cana. It forms a huge resort complex with Iberostar Punta Cana, Iberostar Selection Bavaro and Iberostar Grand with close to 2000 rooms, even though you only have access to Iberostar Punta Cana, as the other resorts are representing a higher level with more upscale services and amenities.
Iberostar Dominicana is a perfect resort for every kind of traveler as it is neither a particular resort geared to families in Punta Cana nor is it adults-only or any kind of party hotel in the Dominican Republic. It is located at the wonderful Arena Gorda Beach, one of the best beaches in Punta Cana.
What stands out at Iberostar Dominicana is the eco-friendly approach of the resort, as it is the only affordable hotel in Punta Cana on this list that focuses on the protection of the environment more than others. You receive a refillable water bottle for your stay and all seafood and fish are taken from sustainable sources. Furthermore, no single-use plastic can be found throughout the resort.
Besides of this Iberostar Dominicana is a good value all-inclusive hotel without too many spectacular amenities. If food is very important to you, you might find better options among the best affordable resorts in the Dominican Republic, such as Catalonia Punta Cana or Ocean El Faro, but the pools, the beach and the tropical gardens in this ample resort live up to their expectations.

7) Bahía Principe Grand Bavaro
Bahía Principe Grand Bavaro is another Bahía brand in our ranking of the best affordable all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. Comparing all the different resorts in 2024, this one is – together with its sister resort Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana – among the cheapest hotels in Punta Cana.
Bahía Principe Grand Bavaro is popular for its outstanding price-value ratio, the large selection of activities and sports (among them tennis, minigolf, watersports, gym, pool diving and table tennis) and a beautiful beach section with a newly renovated beach club, the Las Olas Beach House already mentioned at Bahía Principe Aquamarine. The best price all-inclusive resort belongs also to one of the largest properties in Punta Cana, allowing enough time to explore the grounds and providing extensive lush tropical gardens. However, be prepared that your room is most likely a few minutes walking away from the beach as this Caribbean resort is pretty spread-out.

8) Riu Republica
Riu Republica is definitely a very special resort among our best Punta Cana budget resorts. It is not for everyone, which is why it is important to read the following sections – or our extensive Riu Republica review.
First of all, Riu Republica easily makes it into our list of the resorts which are offering affordable all-inclusive in Punta Cana as prices are below 2500 USD for a week in high season (per room), less than 1500 USD during low season and less than 2000 USD during summer season. Second, it is important to note that Riu Republica in the Dominican Republic is a party resort – in fact, it even leads our list of the best party hotels in Punta Cana. Especially at the pools you can find a non-stop party vibe, which makes it super easy to connect with fellow travelers. The themed nights at Riu Republica live up to its name (and are crowded, unlike many other evening shows in Punta Canas’ resorts which often lacks a lot) and access (twice weekly) to the massive Riu Parties at a separate venue might be the highlight of your affordable all-inclusive vacation in Punta Cana.
This being said, the crowd at Riu Republica is pretty young which means that this is probably not the perfect budget resort if you’re already 40 or 50+. On the other side, if you decide for Riu Republica, you can expect some decent food, incl. an Indian, Italian and Asian restaurant, which have a surprisingly great choice and tasty food, even though parts of the à-la-carte restaurants are partly designed with buffets as well.
Furthermore, don’t expect too much in terms of the rooms at Riu Republica. Even though the resort is less than 10 years old (only opened in 2016) they already show a lot of wear and tear. The service is also more geared towards effectiveness than perfection. Still, the price-value ratio of this Punta Cana budget resort is usually excellent, assuming you’re looking for one of the most social resorts in Punta Cana with lots of free-flowing alcohol.

Bonus: AC Hotel by Marriott Punta Cana
Another very affordable hotel in Punta Cana is AC Hotel by Marriott Punta Cana. It is not an all-inclusive resort, but it is an interesting option for you if you’d like to enjoy comfort, service, decent entertainment and well-selected food without the hustle and bustle of the big city. Furthermore, it is a great option if you want to experience the nightlife in Punta Cana, as it is the only hotel located in the nightlife area of Downtown Punta Cana and just a few minutes’ walking away from Coco Bongo Punta Cana.

AC Hotel by Marriott Punta Cana is a newly-built hotel that only opened in 2020, which offers super modern city-style rooms and a great continental breakfast buffet with hand-selected items. This marks a great base if you want to explore Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic on your own, even though you can also enjoy a large pool which is usually far away from being crowded (particularly compared to some of the all-inclusive resorts) with very elegant and comfy sun loungers as well as occasional entertainment such as live music or wine tastings.
However, AC Hotel Punta Cana is also a feasible option if you’re looking for a Punta Cana all-inclusive hotel, but are being put off by the large crowds, giant buffets, long ways to walk or the impersonal service. In this case, Punta Canas’ Marriott AC Hotel can also serve as your vacation hotel, as you can have lunch, dinner and snacks throughout the day plus super fancy drinks.

Other great value resorts in Punta Cana for 2024
The following resorts have been part of this list in previous years, but haven’t made it to the top 10 of the best affordable all-inclusive resorts 2024 in Punta Cana for different reasons. Why they haven’t made it and why they are still worth a closer look can be read with each description below.
Serenade Punta Cana
The former No. 1 of the list with the best affordable Punta Cana all-inclusive resorts has completely dropped out of the list, as Serenade Punta Cana is missing the maximum weekly rate during the high and low season. Considering it was the best value all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana last year and always received great reviews, it is no surprise that Serenade Punta Cana was able to significantly raise their rates.
Serenade is a newly opened (2020) all-inclusive resort in the area of Cabeza de Toro, one of the areas closest to Punta Cana International Airport, just a 15-minute drive away. This (not anymore so) affordable all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana opened its doors only three years ago (around November 2020) and is therefore completely new, with all the amenities you can expect from a newly-built Punta Cana resort. Modern even though not spectacular rooms, a super contemporary and cozy lobby, comfy lounges and spacious pool areas are what you can expect at Serenade Punta Cana. They also have a water park in their Punta Cana resort, which is perfect for kids. Just recently, they also opened another resort next door, the Serenade All Suites Resort, which is a great and reasonably priced adults-only all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana.
Furthermore, it is amazing that you have all the premium liquor brands included, such as Baileys, Tanqueray Gin or Agavita Tequila. Additionally, the food is on a pretty high level, even though this is reflected in the rates in the meantime. Occidental Caribe
Occidental Caribe is another affordable all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic in this list which has been on our list for years. However, we decided to not include it for 2024. While it meets most of the price targets, it lacks some unique characteristics compared to the other affordable Punta Cana resorts presented here and it should only be considered if you’re traveling to Punta Cana on a strict budget.
While the rooms are pretty old and would need a renovation (but who travels to the Caribbean to be most of the time in the room), they also come with a big advantage. All of them are as close to the beach as in none of the other affordable all-inclusive resorts. This is due to Occidental Caribe being a very compact resort with a rather large building instead of a spread-out layout many other Punta Cana resorts are offering. Therefore, if you’d like to have your room close to the budget without paying more, Occidental Caribe is your perfect choice.
Besides the room location, Occidental Caribe features some decent à-la-carte restaurants (considering the price – it definitely is a budget resort!) and a large main buffet with plenty of selection, including a lot of healthy salads, Dominican favorites and international food. Additionally, the drinks are on the better side, even though not comparable with Serenade Punta Cana or Bahía Principe Grand Aquamarine.

Occidental Punta Cana
The same what was written for Occidental Caribe is also valid for Occidental Punta Cana when it comes to the best affordable all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana 2024. Decent service, good quality, ok room, but nothing unique or spectacular to make it to this hand-selected list.
Occidental Punta Cana is the premium sister of Occidental Caribe, but it is a completely different property in a different location. While usually more expensive than Occidental Caribe, Occidental Punta Cana still falls within the budget restrictions we have set for this list of the best affordable resorts in Punta Cana – perfect for all-inclusive budget travelers to the Dominican Republic.
Compared to Occidental Caribe, Occidental Punta Cana features a more widespread layout with several smaller buildings, totaling up to a room count of 860. 3 pool areas, 11 restaurants and 10 bars are impressive numbers for an individual hotel, even though some of these areas are reserved for the Royal Level of the hotel. This VIP tier of Occidental Punta Cana, which also suits demanding guests, is perfect if you prefer enhanced amenities and personal treatment. Obviously, the prices for the Royal Level don’t meet the budget criteria for the best value all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean.
Occidental Punta Cana is suitable for beach lovers looking for a perfect stretch of sand without blasting their travel budget. It is an affordable resort in Punta Cana, perfect for a budget vacation in Punta Cana.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana
Grand Sirenis is a great family resort in Punta Cana but it was outpricing itself during the high season with a rate of more than 1500 USD per person per week for February 2024. It got completely renovated in 2019 and therefore offers super modern rooms, a great design and a very pleasant vibe. Particularly the rooms were designed with attention to detail and are some of the most contemporary you can find among this list of the best value all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana.
Similar to Serenade Punta Cana, Grand Sirenis Punta Cana features attractive restaurants, among them 2 buffets and 7 à-la-cartes – even though considering the higher prices for 2024, you might find better restaurants in similar priced resorts. Particularly the Mediterranean restaurant is top-notch with some delicious seafood.
The most important amenity of this family hotel is the water park. It is one of the biggest in the entire country with 7 huge water slides, a children’s and a toddler’s water playground and many other pools and amenities. Access to Sirenis Auqagames water park is included when staying at Grand Sirenis Punta Cana.

Impressive Premium Punta Cana
Impressive Premium is the high-tier resort of both Impressive Hotels in Punta Cana and is located right at Bavaro Beach, one of the longest and best beaches in Punta Cana. Riu Bambu
