Where is Princess Family Club Bavaro?
Princess Family Club Bavaro is located in Punta Cana, the most famous holiday destination in the Dominican Republic. The resort can be found right in the heart of Bavaro, the local center in the Punta Cana area. This location makes it easy to explore the surrounding area a bit on your own, opposed to some of the other all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, of which many are situated pretty remotely.
To reach Princess Family Club Bavaro, it is best to prebook an airport transfer from Punta Cana International Airport (approx. 25 minutes) or a private shuttle from Santo Domingo International Airport (a bit more than 2 hours), to ensure a smooth arrival in Punta Cana. This will also guarantee the quickest way from the airport to the pool for your kids. 😉
Princess Family Club Bavaro is located on the same property as Grand Bavaro Princess but has its own areas which are described below.
Overview of Princess Family Club Bavaro
Princess Family Club Bavaro is a very compact resort with less than 200 rooms. All facilities of Princess Family Club Bavaro (reception, water park, pool, bar, snack restaurant, kids club) can be reached within less than two minutes walking. For further amenities, guests of Princess Family Club Bavaro have full access to Grand Bavaro Princess, which is reviewed in detail here.
Let’s have a look at Princess Family Club Bavaro first. The family all-inclusive resort has just one U-shaped building with 164 rooms, which has a small garden, a kids water park, a pool and gastronomic services in the middle of the “U”. Having everything so close makes it a very intimate hotel.
The heart of Princess Family Club is the water park, which is perfectly suitable for younger kids. It is designed in the form of a pirate’s castle and features several water games, a playground and more than 10 small water slides. You can leave your kids here the whole day, they definitely will be entertained. Further Punta Cana resorts with water parks can be found here.
Next to the water park, you can also find a fully-stocked bar, the kids club (for kids in the ages of 4-12) and a special family snack restaurant called Mordisco, which is open from 10 am to 6 pm, making it the perfect choice if the kids are hungry in between and don’t wanna go for a proper lunch.
Guests at Grand Bavaro Princess don’t have access to this water park and to Princess Family Club Bavaro in general, which is why this area hardly gets crowded.
All family members who are too old for the water park or want to have a proper pool can use the separate pool at Princess Family Club Bavaro or the main pool at Grand Bavaro Princess.
For more services, you have all the facilities of its adjoining sister hotel included (except Platinum services), which we have described in this extensive hotel review of Grand Bavaro Princess. Among them are 10 restaurants, various bars, a water sports center, the main pool with entertainment, daily and nightly activities and a gym. The great thing is that Princess Family Club Bavaro is located right next to the main plaza of Grand Bavaro Princess, which means that most of the restaurants, the entertainment and the buffet are located very close to the room with a maximum of 3 minutes walking distance.
Families at Princess Family Club Bavaro All-Inclusive Resort can also use the ice cream truck which is located at the main plaza of Grand Bavaro Princess, a unique delight for the kids when following the evening shows.
For all facilities at Grand Bavaro Princess in Punta Cana or to reach the beach, you have also free access to the internal trolley train at Grand Bavaro Princess. It leaves pretty much next to the lobby of Princess Family Club Bavaro and can bring you to the main pool, the beach or the beachside restaurants.
The beach at Princess Family Club Bavaro
Talking about the beach, guests of Princess Family Club Bavaro have full access to the beach of Grand Bavaro Princess. It is a 15-minute walk (approx. 3000 feet or 900 meters) from most of the rooms at Princess Family Club Bavaro or a 3-minute ride with the internal Princess train.
The beach is part of the Arena Blanca area, which belongs to Bavaro Beach, one of Punta Canas’ most popular and beautiful beaches. It is a long and bright sandy beach with endless space to play in the sand, as it is a very ample part of the beach. Furthermore, you can do endless beach walks, as it stretches for at least 4 miles in each direction, passing several other all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana.
On the beach, you can find sufficient sunloungers and natural umbrellas, food trucks and bars, a water sports center and direct access to the main pool of Grand Bavaro Princess. There is also a beach volleyball court and a buffet restaurant, so it is easy to spend the whole day at the beach if your kids once get tired from the water park.
The rooms at Princess Family Club Bavaro
Let’s have a closer look at the rooms for this Princess Family Club Bavaro review, which offer some very cool amenities for families traveling to Punta Cana.
First of all, Princess Family Club Bavaro is one of the few all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana which offers bunk beds AND a capacity for 5 guests, which is perfect for families with 3 kids or for parties traveling with several adults who need their own bed. In fact, you even have 4 separate beds in all the Princess Family Club Bavaro rooms as there is one king-size bed and one double bunk bed. The bunk bed is extendible and can hold another separate bed.
Furthermore, the suites at Princess Family Club Bavaro come with many more family amenities. In the minibar, which gets replenished daily, you can find juices and milk drinks (besides some soft drinks and beers for the parents). There are slippers and bathrobes for kids and adults in different sizes, which let the kids feel like they are kings. 😉 There are also colorful towels for everyone, along with sand and water toys.
There are also sweets and drinking cups for the kids.
In general, all the Princess Family Club Bavaro rooms are super modern and recently renovated. Same as the rooms at neighboring Grand Bavaro Princess, they are sparkling clean and come with shiny colors and a bright design. They also feature a super-spacious shower (which would fit the whole family 😉 ), a separate toilet and a television. Free WiFi is included and works very well. The air-conditioning in the room is super strong in both hotels. Despite putting it at 25 degrees Celsius (77 Fahrenheit), I was nearly freezing at night (and too lazy to turn it off). 😉
Princess Family Club Bavaro only has two room categories:
– Family Club Junior Suite
– Family Club Junior Suite Swim-Out
Both room categories feature all the amenities described above. The only difference between both is the swim-out option.
While the Family Club Junior Suites have a balcony with a view of the pool, the garden and the water park, the Family Club Junior Suite Swim-Out has direct access to the pool right from the very spacious terrace. Both, the terrace and the balconies, are featuring lounging chairs and a super cool design element, a pink rabbit, giving the hotel a very special touch, being a little bit different than the typical all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana.
Booking and Prices at Princess Family Club Bavaro
Princess Family Club Bavaro can be booked through various websites and tour operators. It is listed as a separate property in all booking engines, so it is also easy to find the right hotel and room category. The swim-out rooms are usually just a few dollars more expensive than those with a balcony, so pick the one which suits you best. The swim-out rooms at Princess Family Club Bavaro might be particularly suitable for older children where constant supervision is not always necessary. Check out the following agencies and websites for the best prices of Princess Family Club Bavaro.

|Travala||Get a 25 USD welcome bonus (register here*) + 2% cashback|
|Tripadvisor||Compare prices and reviews on one site|
It might also be worth checking for vacation package prices in case you haven’t booked your flight to Punta Cana yet. Sometimes this is cheaper if booked together, sometimes not. It always depends on the flights you choose, the dates and the Punta Cana resort.
Same as for Grand Bavaro Princess, we have done extensive research where you can find the best room rates for Princess Family Club Bavaro. There is no clear answer to this question, as it depends on your personal (booking) preferences. To compare prices, we have taken 3 different scenarios – one for low season, one for high season and one during the summer vacation, all of them with varying room occupancies in this Punta Cana all-inclusive resort:
– Scenario 1: couple looking for a cheap Punta Cana vacation in low season, lowest room category (family suite), 15 November – 22 November
– Scenario 2: family (2 adults, 1 child 10 years) looking for a Punta Cana holiday in a swim-out room during high season, family swim-out suite, 15 February – 22 February
– Scenario 3: family (2 adults, 2 children 8 and 14 years) looking for a family holiday at Princess Family Club Bavaro during summer, family suite, 15 July – 22 July

|Booking website||Rate remarks||Scenario 1||Scenario 2||Scenario 3|

|Princess Resort Website||refundable (slightly cheaper non-refundable rates available)||1732 USD*||3879 USD*||3173 USD*|

All prices were taken on the 06th of September 2021.
As you can see in the price comparison for Princess Family Club Bavaro, the website of the resort* usually offer the lowest prices – but only under 2 conditions:
– you are a member of their own reward program My Princess (registration is free and takes 1 minute)
– you are accepting non-refundable rates
Especially the second point is a bummer, considering the rapidly changing travel conditions in the world, which is why I would not recommend booking non-refundable rates with a 100% cancellation fee, especially when planning a long time ahead. However, even the refundable rates on My Princess* are pretty competitive, so you can choose the option which suits you best.
What’s interesting when comparing the prices for Princess Family Club Bavaro, is that Expedia, Booking.com and Apple Vacations, which had very low rates for the sister resort Grand Bavaro Princess, can’t score as much for this family resort in Punta Cana. Apple Vacations* just have great rates for the swim-out suite example (scenario 2), especially considering that an airport transfer from Punta Cana International Airport is included. Expedia* can only score a competitive rate for the family summer vacation in July (scenario 3) and booking.com can compete pretty ok for the low season holiday at Princess Family Club.
Furthermore, you can get a dirt-cheap price at Princess Family Club Bavaro with two lesser-known, but still well-trusted booking websites.
– Trip.com* (a company worth 20 billion at the New York Stock Exchange) offers an amazing deal for the low season scenario, their refundable rate is even cheaper than the cheapest non-refundable rate of My Princess. However, they don’t have any availability for the other travel dates.
– Travala* is the world’s leading blockchain-based travel website, offering more than 2 million properties. Of course, you don’t have to pay with cryptocurrency, but you can. They have a much lower refundable rate for the summer vacation scenario than the other booking websites. Comparing with the lowest available refundable rate, Travala is nearly 300 USD cheaper than the next best offer + you get 2% cashback + you can get a 25 USD sign-up bonus here*.
Restaurants and bars at Princess Family Club Bavaro
Right on the property of Princess Family Club Bavaro, there is one exclusive snack restaurant and one fully equipped bar. However, guests of Princess Family Club Bavaro have full access to all the restaurants and bars at Grand Bavaro Princess (except to the Platinum bars and restaurants), which counts a total of 10 restaurants and 6 bars. Especially the Pizzeria, the sports bar, the Teppanyaki restaurant, the Caribbean-Asian fusion cuisine including sushi menu and the main buffet of Grand Bavaro Princess are super close and reachable in less than 2 minutes walking – they literally belong to Princess Family Club Bavaro.
In general, the food quality at Princess Family Club Bavaro is excellent, especially if you consider the affordable price you pay for this Punta Cana all-inclusive resort and that most of the restaurants and menus got a major upgrade in 2019/2020 when the hotel got fully renovated.
For breakfast, you can choose between two buffets – one at the main plaza very close to all the Princess Family Club Bavaro rooms, the other one at the beach with fantastic views on the Caribbean Sea and one of Punta Canas beautiful beaches. The selection here is outstanding and compared with other all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, you have a large kids corner and a lot of healthy food options. There is exclusively outdoor seating available which brings a special tropical feeling to the restaurant.
For lunch, you can choose between the exclusive Princess Family Club Bavaro restaurant Mordisco, the main buffet at Grand Bavaro Princess, La Hispaniola, and the beach buffet, El Trapiche. Particularly the location at the beach is amazing and is perfect for a Caribbean lunch on the beach. It doesn’t have the same choices as La Hispaniola, but still enough to guarantee a delicious and diversified meal, particularly taking into consideration that they have live-cooking stations outside as well. They made a super tasty Chop Suey and we saw a good-looking paella as well.
For dinner, you can choose between 8 a-la-carte restaurants (9 if you include the sports bar menu as well) and the main buffet. As described in our comprehensive Grand Bavaro Princess review, the themed restaurants are worth a visit as they feature (mostly) beautiful decoration, a limited, but very specialized menu and very good chefs. Particularly the Indian restaurant was amazing and is a unique world on its own.
During our stay at Princess Family Club Bavaro, we also dined at the fish and seafood restaurant El Pescador, which offered a selected array of freshly prepared fish, including ceviche, salmon, shrimps and king prawns. Even though the design and ambiance couldn’t compete with the Samsara or Wasabi restaurant or with the sports bar Rebels, but the food was very delicious and included premium ingredients.
All restaurants are reservation-free and you can visit them on any evening you like. If you go during peak dining hours (7-8.30pm) be prepared to wait a little bit, but you always have the chance to have a drink at a nearby bar in case waiting times are occurring.
In case your kids get hungry outside of the main restaurant opening hours, there is – besides the Princess Family Club Bavaro restaurant Mordisco from 10 am to 6 pm – always the chance to eat at one of the food trucks at the beach or at the Rebels Sports bar, which has a 24 hours menu. Considering it is a 24h snack, the menu is surprisingly extensive, consisting of all the popular pub food options, such as chicken wings, burgers, nachos, hot dogs, quesadillas, empanadas and much more. There are even salmon sandwiches and various treating desserts available and it comes with a very nice presentation, even though the taste could not fully meet the expectations.
Entertainment and Service at Princess Family Club Bavaro
Rebels Sports Bar is also a great place for your older kids and teens when looking for some entertainment and fun among like-minded guests as there are arcade machines, pinball, pool tables and kickers (table football). All of them can be used free of charge which is not a given in Punta Canas’ all-inclusive resorts.
Obviously, for the younger kids, the water park at Princess Family Club Bavaro is the main gateway for entertainment and fun. There is also a kids club at the resort, typically suitable for kids aged between 4 and 12 years. There is also a smaller kid’s park right at the beach which you can use, in case you’d like to combine a day at the beach or the main pool with some activities for the younger kids. The following photo shows the bigger water park at Princess Family Club Bavaro. Have a look at this article to see more all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana with a water park.
Furthermore, particularly the teens can participate in the daily activity program of Grand Bavaro Princess, such as beach volleyball, soccer or activities in the water.
During the evening, there are live shows at the main plaza for every age and I am sure the kids will love them no matter what they are about as the ice cream truck is right there every night …
VIP Level / Platinum Section at Princess Family Club Bavaro
Princess Family Club Bavaro doesn’t count with a VIP section, Preferred Club or Platinum Level – all Princess Family Club Bavaro rooms and bookings enjoy the same facilities.

There is a Platinum Club at Grand Bavaro Princess which can be booked by families as well. In this case, you have access to the entire Grand Bavaro Princess incl. their Platinum restaurants and the unique and fantastic sky bar at the beach. However, as a Platinum guest at Grand Bavaro Princess, you don’t have access to Princess Family Club Bavaro, which means you can’t use the larger one of the water parks nor the swim-out suites or the Mordisco restaurant.
Interchanging facilities between Princess Family Club Bavaro and Grand Bavaro Princess
As already mentioned in this Princess Family Club Bavaro review, guests of this family all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana enjoy full access to Grand Bavaro Princess, except for the Platinum Club services (which are mostly limited to the Platinum Club lounge, the Platinum Beach Grill, the Platinum sky bar, and the Platinum pool).
– Most Popular Posts on Punta Cana Travel Blog –
On the other side, guests of Grand Bavaro Princess don’t have access to Princess Family Club Bavaro, it doesn’t matter if you are a Platinum member or not. This being said, Princess Family Club Bavaro is a small family oasis in Punta Cana, exclusively for those booking this specific resort.
Guest of Family Club Bavaro also don’t have access to the other Princess Resorts in Punta Cana, such as Tropical Deluxe Princess, Caribe Deluxe Princess or Punta Cana Princess.
Safety Protocols and Hygiene Standards at Princess Family Club Bavaro
Princess Family Club Bavaro is operating under the same Covid-19 hygiene protocols as Grand Bavaro Princess. For detailed information, please check the Covid-19 section of the Grand Bavaro Princess review.
In general, there were hardly any Covid-19 restrictions at Princess Family Club Bavaro (except that the theater and the disco are still closed and that activities with very close social interactions like parties, etc. are not taking place right now), but cleanliness, disinfection and personal hygiene (disinfection of hands, mask obligation in high-frequented areas, etc.) were set up perfectly, without interfering too much into the guests’ pleasure and enjoyment.
Excursions from Princess Family Club Bavaro
If you are traveling to Punta Cana as a family and stay at the all-inclusive resort of Princess Family Club Bavaro, you also shouldn’t miss exploring some of the unique sights and attractions Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic have to offer. The great thing is that most of these excursions in Punta Cana are kid-friendly, as you can read here in our guide about the best family activities in Punta Cana.
If looking for the perfect Princess Family Club Bavaro excursion, you can choose between activities on the water and some excursions to explore the backcountry of the Dominican Republic.
For the best Punta Cana excursions on the water, we can highly recommend water activities such as a banana boat or parasailing*, visiting a waterfall in Punta Cana or – particularly for teens – taking a surf lesson in Macao*.
If you don’t want to get that wet on your Punta Cana tour, a family buggy adventure or more relaxed countryside tours in a safari truck are great picks for families. You can also visit some of the multifaceted theme parks in Punta Cana, such as Scape Park Cap Cana or Bavaro Adventure Park.
Planning a family vacation to Punta Cana? This all-inclusive resort could be a great option for you as shown in this Princess Family Club Bavaro review.
We particularly loved the small size of this hotel even though it is part of a larger resort. However, the U-shaped building and the water park exclusively for Princess Family Club Bavaro guests feel like its own little family oasis. Once stepping into neighboring Grand Bavaro Princess, you have full access to the entire world of restaurants, bars, activities and entertainment options, including some kids favorites such as the ice cream truck or the arcade machines at the Sports Bar Rebels.
The suites at Princess Family Club Bavaro are very family-friendly as well, particularly considering the occupancy of up to 5 guests, the bunk beds and the children’s amenities.
Just if you would like to stay very close to the beach Princess Family Club Bavaro might not be the perfect option, as it is a little distanced from the ocean. In this case, their sister resort Tropical Deluxe Princess might be a better option. However, the internal trolley helps to cover this distance in around 3 minutes.
Princess Family Club Bavaro is one of the best family all-inclusive resorts if you are looking for a premium yet affordable resort in Punta Cana. Particularly if you want to avoid paying a fortune like for the high-end family hotels in the Dominican Republic but are still looking for a premium option with very modern rooms, a great selection of food and well-elaborated kids’ amenities, Princess Family Club Bavaro might be the perfect option for you.
