Very social resort with lots of entertainment, activities and occasional parties. The age of the crowd is usually in their 30s and 40s. Breathless Punta Cana Adults Only guests have access to neighboring Dreams Onyx.
Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar Resort:
The most upscale resort among the 7 hotels at the large Bahía Principe Punta Cana complex. A lot of activities, super modern rooms, directly at the beach – a great and recommendable option for a Punta Cana adults-only vacation.
Bahia Principe Grand Aquamarine:
Similar to Bahía Principe Luxury Ambar, but one step down in quality – and usually much more affordable, which is why it is part of the best cheap adults-only all-inclusive in Punta Cana. A stay includes access to some of the neighboring Bahía Hotels, such as Bahía Principe Bavaro and Punta Cana.
Bahia Principe Luxury Bouganville:
Great resort with an outstanding price-value ratio, but Bahía Principe Luxury Bouganville has two major downsides: the remote location between La Romana and San Pedro de Macoris and the mediocre beach with sometimes murky water.
Barcelo Bavaro Beach Adults Only:
Wonderful location right at the beach with many ocean-view rooms, even if you book the standard category. Guests at Barcelo Bavaro Beach Adults Only also have access to neighboring Barcelo Bavaro Palace.
Catalonia Royal Bavaro:
Catalonia Royal Bavaro is a amall and boutique-style adults-only resort in Punta Cana’s Cabeza de Toro area. The garden and design of the resort are very beautiful, but the standard rooms are old (book a Privilege Room for modern rooms) and food is hit and miss (head over to Catalonia Punta Cana for more consistent food).
Catalonia Royal La Romana:
Small adults-only resort in Bayahibe with only 141 rooms on a picture-perfect beach. Beautiful beach club with a very quiet and relaxed vibe. Free access to neighboring Catalonia Bayahibe with additional restaurant and activity options.
Excellence El Carmen:
Perfect resort for a couple-friendly adults-only vacation in Punta Cana with outstanding a-la-carte food – both in terms of quantity (11 restaurants) and quality (delicious).
Excellence Punta Cana:
Another top-notch resort and part of the best luxury 5-star adults-only resorts in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic. Located on a pristine and sometimes wild beach, offering consistent quality in terms of food, drinks, service and rooms.

Finest Punta Cana – Excellence Club:
Finest in the Dominican Republic is a family resort in Punta Cana, but their Excellence Club, occupying approx. a third of the resort, is an adults-only section. We loved the free coconuts, international beer brands and creative culinary experiences here. Not recommended for those looking for a stand-alone adults-only resort in Punta Cana, but otherwise a great pick.
Hideaway at Royalton Punta Cana:
As the name might imply, Hideaway is a separate adults-only section among Royalton Punta Cana. The rooms and pools are located secluded within the resort and not accessible for families, but most of the bar and restaurant amenities are shared with the entire resort.
Hilton La Romana Adults Only:
One of only two adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Bayahibe, Dominican Republic – and the most popular one. It shares the property with the neighboring Hilton La Romana Family but is a stand-alone resort with plenty of restaurants and bars. You have free access to the family side though if you prefer more restaurant or activity options.
HM Bavaro Beach:
A barebone all-inclusive resort for a super cheap price and with a prime location. The hotel is recommendable if you know what to expect. This being said, make sure to read the descriptions and some resort reviews carefully before. This Punta Cana adults-only resort just rebranded from Whala Bavaro to HM Bavaro Beach.
Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana:
According to the 10000s of customer reviews, Hyatt Zilara is by far the best adults-only all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic. The property indeed offers outstanding quality and you’ll hardly find any flaws, but pricing reflects this outstanding all-inclusive package.
Iberostar Grand Bavaro:
Another outstanding 5-star all-inclusive all-adult Punta Cana resort with the highest standards of luxury, food and especially drinks incl. wine. You’ll have access from Iberostar Grand Bavaro to the other Iberostar Resorts in Punta Cana, even though you most likely won’t take advantage of it.
Live Aqua Punta Cana:
One of our favorite Punta Cana adults-only resorts, Live Aqua Beach Resort combines fantastic suites, great food and plenty of pools with a still reasonable price tag. The resort was quieter as expected, which makes it a perfect couple-friendly resort in Punta Cana if you’re looking for peace and relaxation. Make sure to have the amazing beachfront à-la-carte lunch, if possible several times. 😉
Lopesan Costa Bavaro – Adults Only Club:
Lopesan Costa Bavaro is an amazing resort in Punta Cana and one of our favorites, but the Adults Only Club is hardly worth mentioning. Just a pool and a bar are the only amenities, the rest are shared facilities with the main resort.
Majestic Colonial Punta Cana – Colonial Club:
Majestic Colonial is an all-generation all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana with an adults-only section called Colonial Club, even though the resort is more geared towards families visiting the Dominican Republic. It is rather a separate area than a full adults-only hotel, as it only features 2 pools, 1 restaurant and 2 bars.
Majestic Elegance Punta Cana – Elegance Club:
Majestic Elegance is an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana with an adults-only section called Elegance Club. It is one of the higher-tier resorts of Majestic with fewer families. The Elegance Club features more services than the Colonial Club.
Majestic Mirage Punta Cana – Mirage Club:
The Mirage Club Adults Only at Majestic Mirage Punta Cana is what comes closest to a Mirage Adults Only Resort in Punta Cana. Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana – Hammock:
Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana Adults Only is another example where you find an adults-only section within a multi-generational all-inclusive resort. Most of the resort offers shared amenities among all ages, but if you travel as a couple or without kids, you can book your room at the “Hammock” area, which is exclusively for adults.
Melia Punta Cana Adults Only:

Ocean El Faro – El Beso:
El Beso is a separate adults-only section within Ocean El Faro. Compared to other adults-only sections it is more substantial in terms of adults-only services, as it includes 2 swimming pools, an outdoor jacuzzi, a beach area, 1 restaurant, 1 snack bar, 2 pool bars and a beach club. You have free access to the shared facilities at Ocean El Faro. Just note that the beach at Ocean El Faro is not super attractive.
Punta Cana Princess Adults Only:
Princess Resorts does have 5 resorts in the Dominican Republic, but just one of them is an adults-only hotel: Punta Cana Princess. It is one of the more affordable adult resorts in Punta Cana and is recommendable if you’re looking for a worry-free and easy-going holiday that doesn’t break the bank.
Riu Palace Macao:
Riu Palace Macao was completely renovated in 2023 and now has super modern rooms and contemporary amenities right at the beautiful Arena Gorda Beach. While the resort is pretty quiet and laid back, you have access to the massive Riu Parties next door, which run 4 times a week.
Riu Republica:
Riu Republica is THE party resort in Punta Cana and ideal for young people looking for a spring-break vibe, non-stop entertainment and one of the busiest night clubs among all (adults-only) resorts in Punta Cana. Besides the theme parties right at Riu Republica Adults Only, free shuttles and free access to the Riu Party events are included twice weekly.
Royalton Chic:
Royalton Chic Punta Cana is an adults-only hotel with a very social and interactive vibe. You can find pool parties and theme night shows (much better and more creative than just the typical Michael Jackson shows), among others. Foodwise, Royalton Chic is one of the best adults-only resorts in the mid-price segment as it has a tasty and flavorful buffet and one of the best Indian restaurants in Punta Cana.
Sanctuary Cap Cana:
If you’re looking for a high-quality and elegant adults-only vacation in Punta Cana, Sanctuary Cap Cana is a perfect option. Several ocean-view rooms, the small Sanctuary Village and a world-class spa are awaiting you.
Secrets Cap Cana:
Secrets Cap Cana is another Cap Cana all-inclusive adults-only resort, and a very recommendable one. It features a super-white beach, a mixed vibe between couples, singles and groups and plenty of amazing beachfront rooms and swim-out suites in Punta Cana.
Secrets Playa Esmeralda:
Secrets Playa Esmeralda will be – together with neighboring Dreams Playa Esmeralda, where you’ll have free access to – the only second resort at one of the Dominican Republic’s most beautiful beaches: Playa Esmeralda, a true hidden gem! It is scheduled to open in 2024.
Secrets Royal Beach:
Secrets Royal Beach is Secrets’ oldest resort in Punta Cana, but after its renovation in 2020, it features a spectacular Preferred Club Lounge and an amazing design among some of the public areas. Particularly the two-storey infinity pool is impressive. You have free access to Dreams Royal Beach from Secrets Royal Beach, but you most likely won’t need it.
Secrets Tides:
Secrets Tides is another Secrets Resort that just opened its doors at the beginning of 2024. It is located in Uvero Alto and is a brand-new adults-only all-inclusive in the Dominican Republic. Check the rates of Secrets Tides* for some interesting opening offers.
Serenade All Suites Resort:
Besides the two new Secrets Resorts, Serenade All Suites Resort is also a contender in the category of new Punta Cana adults-only resorts for 2024. It is located right next to Serenade Punta Cana and features free access to it, even though you can find all the services you need during your Punta Cana vacation on the adults-only side.
TRS Cap Cana:
TRS Cap Cana is one of the smallest adults-only resorts in Punta Cana with just 115 rooms. This gives it a super intimate vibe and avoids the hustle and bustle of big resorts. While located at the ocean TRS Cap Cana doesn’t have a proper beach, but offers free daily shuttles to Juanillo Beach, one of the best beaches in Punta Cana.
TRS Turquesa:
TRS Turquesa is part of the big Palladium property, but it is still a stand-alone adults-only all-inclusive in Punta Cana, as you have plenty of restaurants to choose from. It has a relaxed and quiet vibe, but you can walk over to Palladium Resorts for any kind of daily and nightly entertainment or additional restaurant options.
W Punta Cana:
W Punta Cana will be a new opening and the 9th all-adults all-inclusive resort in Uvero Alto, one of the northern areas in Punta Cana. The beach will be pretty pristine and wild and with approx. 350 rooms it is a mid-sized hotel in Punta Cana. So far it is scheduled to open during the end of 2024.
