Cap Cana is a separate area south of Punta Cana, just 15 minutes away from Punta Cana International Airport. It is well known for its luxury all-inclusive resorts, most of which are adults-only (but not all). To give you a good overview of which resorts are suitable for you when you’re looking for a Cap Cana all-inclusive adults-only resort, we have chosen the best ones for you, all stand-alone resorts and not just a small section like in some hotels. And, as a surprise, there is even a hotel that is pretty affordable in case you’re traveling with a limited budget – not something that is pretty common in Cap Cana.
This article is exlusively about all the Cap Cana adults-only resorts in Punta Cana, which are usually on the more expensive side. Some of them are also included in our list of the best 5-star all-inclusive adults-only hotels in Punta Cana.

Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana Adults Only
The leading adults-only resort in Cap Cana is without a doubt Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana. It gets the best customer reviews on Tripadvisor (No. 2 out of all resorts in Punta Cana), Booking.com (No. 1) and Expedia (No. 1) and also convinced us when we were visiting the hotel. Therefore it’s not a surprise that Hyatt Zilara is not only the best adults-only resort in Cap Cana, but also one of the best overall Punta Cana all-inclusive all-adults hotels, which is also reflected in our list of the best 5-star luxury adults-only resorts in Punta Cana.
But what sets Hyatt Zilara apart?
Well, it is a combination of service, food, location, activities and rooms. You might not get the best in every detail, but you get outstanding quality in all of these points which is much better than what most other Punta Cana resorts are offering.
Service: regarding the service, Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana Adults Only is setting standards. I haven’t seen such a thoroughly personalized and professional service in any other all-inclusive hotel in Punta Cana so far.
Food: Hyatt Zilara offers 5 restaurants (incl. one buffet), among them creative culinary delights such as French-Polynesian cuisine or an Indian restaurant with a train theme. If that’s not enough, a further 5 restaurants at neighboring Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana can be explored.
Beach: Hyatt Zilara is located at one of the whitest beaches in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic – no wonder that this Cap Cana resort is one of the adults-only resorts in Punta Cana with the best beach.
Activities: besides the typical resort activities and entertainment, guests of Hyatt Zilara also do have access to the waterpark of Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana, the neighboring resort. It is not the largest water park in Punta Cana, but it does its job.
Rooms: this might be one of the few points that aren’t industry-leading. The rooms are clean, elegant and spacious, but they are missing a certain touch of tropical design or a particular wow effect.
Convinced? Check prices of Hyatt Zilara here*, but be prepared for a hefty rate. All-inclusive close to perfection doesn’t come with a cheap price tag.
Summary: if you are looking for the best of the best Cap Cana adults-only resort, Hyatt Zilara is your way to go.
Secrets Cap Cana
Secrets Cap Cana is Cap Cana’s adults-only resort No. 2 – both in terms of popularity as well as reviews. This all-inclusive hotel in Cap Cana, which was opened in 2016, is a perfect holiday destination for all adults looking for some of the best services in the industry. Reviews, which are consistently above 9/10 among the top platforms, are proving this.
Secrets Cap Cana Adults Only, which has a similar size (457 rooms) to Hyatt Zilara, but is a stand-alone resort without any additional shared access from or to other resorts nearby, features the same fantastic white beach as Hyatt Zilara, surrounded by some of the most turquoise waters you can find in Punta Cana.
What’s unique about Secrets Cap Cana are the amazing suites, especially when you’re looking for oceanfront rooms, bungalow suites with private pools or swim-out suites in Punta Cana. Preferred Club rooms are recommended if you’re looking for a certain extra of service and amenities, such as additional dining options, a VIP lounge or upgraded liquor brands – even though considering the anyway high level of Secrets Cap Cana adults-only, it is not 100% necessary.
It is worth comparing prices as Secrets Cap Cana – similar to Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana – usually comes with a hefty price tag. But especially when they’re running promotions or during the low season, you can find some pretty attractive deals.
If you’re wondering if Hyatt Zilara or Secrets Cap Cana is better, I would opt for Secrets Cap Cana if the price is at least 100 USD per night per room lower. Otherwise, Hyatt Zilara would be my top pick. You can’t go wrong with both of them.

Summary: Secrets Cap Cana is a great alternative for one of the best adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana in case Hyatt Zilara is sold out or too expensive
Sanctuary Cap Cana
Sanctuary Cap Cana is No. 3 among our best Cap Cana adults-only resorts and it isn’t a big surprise that all three of them are also part of our list of the best 5-star luxury adults-only resorts in Punta Cana. Cap Cana is simply the embodiment of luxury.
Sanctuary Cap Cana is one of the older resorts in Cap Cana, but it was extensively renovated and upgraded in 2019 and 2022. You wouldn’t see that this Punta Cana adults-only all-inclusive already has more than 10 years on the market.
The vibe and design of the resort are a bit different than in other resorts in Punta Cana as there isn’t this large tropical garden you might be used to – and the beach is different too. However, Sanctuary Cap Canas rooms are built nearly parallel to the ocean, which is why you can find so many ocean-view rooms here. Furthermore, you can find Sanctuary Village outside of the resort, which features a couple of restaurants and bars, which are included in your stay at Sanctuary Cap Cana Adults Only.
Service and quality are impeccable here at this adults-only all-inclusive resort in Cap Cana. Food is also excellent, especially as you can choose between 5 restaurants within the resort (among them 4 à-la-cartes) and 4 restaurants at Sanctuary Town (1 of them for an extra charge).
The only thing where Sanctuary Cap Cana can’t compete with the other Cap Cana adults-only resorts mentioned above (Hyatt Zilara and Secrets Cap Cana) is the beach, as it is pretty small and very prone to sargassum during the seaweed season in Punta Cana.
Summary: due to its quiet and elegant vibe, this outstanding adults-only resort in Cap Cana is perfect for honeymooners in Punta Cana or those looking for a luxurious getaway in Punta Cana
TRS Cap Cana
After those three upscale luxury adults-only resorts in Punta Cana, we also have one more affordable option for you – which is pretty surprising considering the high-end approach of Cap Cana. But indeed, TRS Cap Cana is already available starting from 140 USD per person per night during the low season. Even during the high season you can find rooms (for 2) starting from 360 USD per night.
Furthermore, TRS Cap Cana is an adults-only resort with only 115 suites, making it a very intimate and compact resort. You won’t find big groups here, which makes it, besides the ocean view (or marina) suites and the included services of in-room dining and butler service, a perfect resort for couples in Punta Cana.
Despite its small size, TRS Cap Cana has 4 restaurants (1 buffet + 1 Argentinian, 1 Mediterranean, 1 Italian à-la-carte restaurant), 1 coffee shop, 1 snack bar and 3 bars. Daily activities and night entertainment are also available, even though they are less noisy than in other resorts, making it the perfect place for a relaxed Punta Cana adults-only vacation with all-inclusive.
Similar to Sanctuary Cap Cana Adults Only, TRS Cap Cana doesn’t have a great beach – in fact, they only have a small artificial stretch. However, they offer free shuttles to Juanillo Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Punta Cana.
If you’re looking for more resorts like TRS Cap Cana but with a better beach, you can also check out our best mid-price adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana for affordable luxury.
Summary: affordable adults-only resort in Cap Cana with personalized service and very short ways to walk due to the compact size of the resort
