Serenade Punta Cana Beach & Spa Resort

Liked- Luis the bartender at the swim up bar was wonderful, kind, & made delicious drinks! Highly recommend the Mango-Tango! - There are cute activities going on each night such as Bingo, Karaoke, Magic Shows, Pool-Foam-Party, etc. - If you are a young party looking for an excursion - I HIGHLY recommend booking the happy hour boat tour through the hotel. Claudio at the excursions table was extremely helpful and it was 3 hours of fun in the sun! (drinks included, no lunch) (snorkeling, sandbar, etc.)

DislikedUpon arrival the staff at check in was very rude and dismissive. They were not quick to help, had an attitude when I explained all the rooms were booked under a singular person and spoke negatively about us in Spanish in front of us not knowing there were a few ppl in our group who were fluent. We also had issues with the food and reservation system. The app that is used to make all bookings did not work well and when we went to “concierge” the women continued to redirect us to the app and said that was all she could do. We needed to use the app to make reservation even though we could not get any large enough for our party until late at night, close to 9 or 9:30pm despite seeing that many of the restaurants were close to empty earlier in the evening. When we did eat at the restaurants the service was incredibly slow and wait staff was often rude. We waited up to 75 min for appetizers and drinks at our 9pm reservation at the Steak House. When we did finally get food it was for another table- which we pointed out to the waiter who dismissed us took the food and then came back to say the chef did not want to bring out our food if we were upset about it. The food overall was okay but the buffets and many restaurants lacked dietary information or were not very allergy friendly. The app was also needed to request towels and cleaning service to the rooms. Our requests often went ignored and we had to go speak with reception on multiple occasions for towels and basic room services. The room service menu was also very small and only went to 9pm which is a little disappointing when most restaurants also closed at 9pm.

DislikedI thought they were taking me for a lunch and an excursion but it end up sale tour. It took 3 hours of my time which I could’ve enjoy the hotel more. They could tell me what it was for in the beginning.

Dislikedtreatment of smoe of the staff was not acceptable. particularly the hostess of what is supposed to be the finest restaurant of the hotel, gourmet. music too loud everywhere in the hotel around the pools making it almost impossible to relax. food mediocre. wine undrinkable. we had to pay 30% premium for the preferred status in order to have some relax and access to better food/wine.
